  But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. ----Psalm 1:2 WHO : The first “his” is referring to the blessed man in Psalm 1:1. You also have the Lord himself mentioned in this verse. The second “his” refers to the Lord. The word “he” references, once again, the Blessed man in Psalm 1:1. WHAT: This verse centers around “the law of the Lord”. Law is mentioned twice, I believe, repeated for emphasis. The blessed man, “delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.” The blessed man delights and meditates on “the law of the Lord” or the Word of God. In other words, he thinks and ponders on God’s Holy Word. WHERE: One could say, that a Spiritual location is “in the law of the Lord”. A person can meditate and delight in the Word of God everywhere (implied). WHEN : The blessed man meditates on the Word of God “day and night”—continually. I can’t overemphasize the importance of Bible study. Personally, as a believer I want to better understand God’s nature and will. The Word of God is surprisingly revealing about these details. It is very important for people to read and study the Bible. It reveals the will of God for the Believer and the path of Salvation for the non-believer. Personally, I believe that praying the Scriptures is a good way to talk to God. The following verse reveals God’s attitude towards pride and arrogance. Proverbs 8:13 (KJV) states “The fear of the LORD is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate.” Why Does God Hate Arrogance? The Lord hates arrogance for good reason. The arrogant put themselves before anything, including God. I believe a good number of people struggle with this sin. I definitely struggle with this sin, and I express it in annoying ways that have cost me important relationships and strained others down through the years. Psalm 117:1-2 (KJV) says: “O praise the LORD, all ye nations: praise him, all ye people. For his merciful kindness is great toward us: and the truth of the LORD endureth for ever. Praise ye the LORD.” I have always liked Psalm 117. It is a short but positive Psalm that invites those in the world who would believe in God to praise Him. Moreover, it gives some very important reasons to praise Him, such as His merciful kindness as well as His enduring truth. Let’s take a closer look at these reasons. Love Toward a Lost World Psalm 117:2(a) (KJV) states “For his merciful kindness is great toward us...” The greatest example of “His merciful kindness” is that God sent his only begotten son to die for a sinful world on the cross ( John 3:16 ). In October 2015, I returned to the Lord Jesus Christ after being in a backslidden state for more than 15 years. Immediately after that, the Holy Spirit laid upon my heart a strong desire to study the Bible.  I believe the Holy Spirit wants to reinforce to me this verse from 2 Timothy 2:15 (KJV ): “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. ” I then began to feel a calling to write and share my journey. Doubt and life setbacks have deterred me from starting this blog until now. I said to the Lord, “I haven’t even finished reading the Bible yet.
