Incline my heart unto thy testimonies, and not to covetousness. —Psalm 119:36 (KJV) Sometimes we don’t necessarily crave material things such as cars, houses and money. Sometimes we covet status, acknowledgements, and recreation. It’s all a distraction from our precious Lord Jesus and His Gospel. We should be thankful that we have a place with Jesus in heaven. Dear Lord, I pray that my focus will always be on you and your glory. I pray for the burden of concern for the lost. I pray that you will fuel my desire to tell the world that you sent your son to die for the sins of the world and that you rose again on the third day. Cleanse me from the poison of covetousness.
