Focus verse:
“Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.”
——Philippians 1:2 (KJV)
Context for Philippians 1:2
(1) Paul and Timotheus, the servants of Jesus Christ, to all the saints in Christ Jesus which are at Philippi, with the bishops and deacons:
(2) Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.
(3) I thank my God upon every remembrance of you,
(4) Always in every prayer of mine for you all making request with joy,
(5) For your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now;
(6) Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:
(7) Even as it is meet for me to think this of you all, because I have you in my heart; inasmuch as both in my bonds, and in the defence and confirmation of the gospel, ye all are partakers of my grace.
(8) For God is my record, how greatly I long after you all in the bowels of Jesus Christ.
Embedded within an ancient greeting from the Apostle Paul to the Church in Philippi lies a reminder of the Author of our Salvation, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
God sent his only begotten Son to die on the Cross for our sins. He was raised on the third day for our justification. Whosoever believes on him will have eternal life.
Jesus bore this horrible agony so that the world, in bondage to sin, may be reconciled to God and partake of his grace.
We the believer have peace in knowing that we will have eternal life with a loving Savior who showed grace to us who offended Him in their sinful acts.
Prayer
Heavenly Father,
When Adam and Eve rebelled against you in the Garden of Eden bringing us under the bondage of Sin, you had a plan for your Son Jesus to come in the flesh and die for our sins here on Earth.
We have peace in knowing that he was raised on third day and now sits at your right hand. One day, we the believer, will be with Jesus in eternal loving fellowship.
I pray that any non believer who reads this post will trust Jesus as their Lord and Savior and believe that he is the resurrected Son of God who shed his blood for our sins on the Cross at Calvary.
In Jesus name I pray,
Amen.
